Ghufranak, al-hamdulillah alladhi adh-haba 'anni al-adha wa 'aafani.

When to Read

This dua is recited immediately after exiting the toilet or bathroom. It's a moment of transition from a private act to rejoining the general environment, making it a perfect time to acknowledge Allah's blessings.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity after you have finished using the toilet and are stepping out. It’s a quiet reflection, so there's no need to raise your voice, but it should be said clearly. The emphasis is on the gratitude and acknowledgement of Allah's mercy in relieving you and restoring your health.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication carries profound meaning. Firstly, 'Ghufranak' (I seek Your forgiveness) acknowledges our inherent need for Allah's pardon, even in our most natural bodily functions. Secondly, 'Alhamdulillah alladhi adh-haba 'anni al-adha' (All praise is due to Allah, Who removed from me the harm) is a direct expression of gratitude for the release from bodily discomfort and waste, a blessing we often take for granted. Lastly, 'wa 'aafani' (and granted me well-being) is a thank you for the state of health and comfort that allows us to function. This simple dua encapsulates gratitude for relief and health, essential components of overall well-being.
