Ghufranak

When to Read

This short, powerful dua is recited immediately upon exiting the toilet. It signifies acknowledging Allah's blessings and seeking His pardon for any unintended shortcomings or forgetfulness during the act of seeking relief.

How to Read

Recite this single word, 'Ghufranak', with sincerity and humility as you step out of the place of excretion. It's a brief moment to reconnect with Allah's mercy and express your dependence on Him.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a beautiful reminder of our constant need for Allah's forgiveness. Even in the most mundane acts, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to turn to Allah. By seeking His forgiveness right after, we acknowledge that we are always in need of His mercy and that even the act of relieving ourselves is a blessing from Him, for which we should be grateful and seek pardon if we were heedless.
