يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.

Ya muqallibal-qulubi, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik

When to Read

This dua is crucial for every Muslim, especially after a period of realization or renewed commitment to faith. The heart is the center of our belief and actions, and it's constantly subject to change. Therefore, we should turn to Allah regularly, particularly after acknowledging His guidance, to ask for His help in remaining steadfast. Recite it after every obligatory prayer, or at any time you feel the need to reaffirm your commitment and seek protection from wavering.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely, with full conviction that only Allah can keep your heart firm. Focus on the meaning of the words, understanding that your faith is a gift from Him that needs constant nurturing and protection. Raise your hands if you are praying alone or in a private setting, as this is a supplication.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua because the human heart is inherently fragile and susceptible to shifting desires and influences. Allah describes Himself as 'Muqallib al-Qulub' (Turner of the hearts), emphasizing His complete control over them. Seeking His help to keep our hearts firm on Islam is a profound act of reliance and a recognition of our need for His constant support. This dua ensures that the guidance we have received, or are striving for, is solidified within us, protecting us from falling back into old habits or succumbing to external doubts and temptations.

Source & Authentication

‘Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Verily, the hearts of all human beings are between the fingers of the Most Merciful like a single soul. He controls them however He wills.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, Turner of the hearts, turn my heart to Your obedience.'
