O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You as a partner, knowingly. And I seek Your forgiveness for what I know not.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika an ushrika bika shai'an wa ana a'lamu, wa astaghfiruka lima la a'lamu.

This dua directly addresses the most dangerous spiritual ailment: shirk. By seeking Allah's refuge from known and unknown forms of shirk, we are actively protecting our faith (iman) and ensuring our worship is solely for Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua as a means of safeguarding oneself against associating partners with Allah, a sin that can nullify all good deeds if not repented from. It cultivates humility and constant reliance on Allah for spiritual protection.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Abu Musa that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O people, beware of this shirk, for it is more hidden than the crawling of an ant.' They said: 'And how can we beware of it, O Messenger of Allah, when it is more hidden than the crawling of an ant?' He said: 'Say: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika an ushrika bika shai'an wa ana a'lamu, wa astaghfiruka lima la a'lamu' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You as a partner, knowingly. And I seek Your forgiveness for what I know not.) - He said: 'Say this in the morning and in the evening, and in the night when you go to bed.'
