O Allah, guide us and make us firm, and remember Your guidance for our hearts, and Your taqwa for our deeds, and certainty for our chests, and Islam for ourselves, and contentment with our provisions, and fear of You in our conditions, and love for Your sake, and longing to meet You, and cause us to die not in tribulation, nor as changers, nor as alterers, and make the end of our affairs good.
Allahumma ihdina wa saddidna, wadhkur hudaka liqulubina, wa taqwa li'amalinna, wal-yaqeena lisudurinna, wal-Islama li'anfusina, wal-qana'ata li'arzaqina, wal-khawfa minka li'ahwalina, wal-hubba li'ajlik, wash-shawqa ila liqa'ika, wa tawaffana ghayra muftatinina, wala mubaddilina, wala mughayyirina, waj'al 'awaqiba umurina khayra.
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is perfect for seeking Allah's help in all aspects of life, particularly when feeling lost, uncertain, or in need of spiritual direction. It can be recited at any time, but it's especially beneficial after obligatory prayers (fardh salah) or during the times when supplication is readily answered, such as the last third of the night or between the Adhan and Iqamah. Use it whenever you feel the need to realign your heart and actions with Allah's pleasure and seek His guidance to remain steadfast.
How to Read
Begin by facing the Qiblah and raising your hands, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Commence with praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Recite this dua with sincere intention, contemplating its meaning and feeling the depth of your need for Allah's guidance. Speak with humility, acknowledging your reliance on Him. Make sure to pronounce the Arabic clearly. You can repeat it multiple times for emphasis. Conclude by sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ again and making personal dua for forgiveness and guidance.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a powerful plea for comprehensive guidance, encompassing not just outward actions but the inner state of the heart. It asks for: * **Hidayah (Guidance):** The ability to discern the right path and follow it. * **Tasdeed (Steadfastness):** Firmness in adhering to the truth and avoiding deviation. * **Taqwa (God-consciousness):** A constant awareness of Allah, leading to righteous deeds. * **Yaqin (Certainty):** Strong conviction in Allah's promises and decree. * **Qana'ah (Contentment):** Satisfaction with what Allah has provided, fostering peace of mind. * **Fear of Allah:** A healthy apprehension that prevents one from transgressing His limits. * **Love for Allah:** A devotion that makes one prioritize His pleasure above all else. * **Longing for Allah:** A deep spiritual yearning for His company in the Hereafter. By seeking these qualities, we are essentially asking Allah to perfect our faith and our lives, ensuring a good end, free from trials and deviations. The hadith itself highlights the importance of seeking guidance, which is fundamental to pleasing Allah and achieving success in this life and the next. Allah says, "And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way out for him. And He will provide him with sustenance from whence he never expected." (Surah At-Talaq 65:2-3)
