O Allah, make the best of my life its end, and the best of my deeds their conclusions, and make the best of my days the day I meet You.
Allahumma-j'al khayra 'umuri akhirahu, wa khayra 'amali khawatimahu, waj'al khayra ayyami yawma liqa'ika.
When to Read
This is a profound supplication that can and should be made regularly throughout one's life. It's especially poignant to reflect on and recite during times of reflection, when thinking about the Hereafter, or when feeling a renewed sense of commitment to faith. It’s a plea for a good end, so it’s a dua for all times, not just at the point of death.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and deep reflection. Understand that you are asking Allah (SWT) for the ultimate blessing: to depart this world with your faith intact and in a state pleasing to Him. Focus on the meaning of each phrase – that the culmination of your life, your actions, and your days should lead you to a good end, meeting your Lord with contentment.
Virtues & Benefits
The primary benefit is seeking Allah's (SWT) mercy for a righteous end. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the deeds are judged by their conclusions. This dua is a direct request for that blessed conclusion – a life that culminates in faith, actions that end on a high note of righteousness, and a final meeting with Allah (SWT) that is filled with peace and acceptance. It encapsulates the essence of striving for excellence in our faith until the very last breath.
