O Allah, help me remember You, thank You, and worship You in the best way.

Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika

When to Read

This is a comprehensive dua that can be recited at any time, but it is particularly beneficial to make it after every obligatory prayer. It is also an excellent dua to make when you feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities, including the significant duties towards your parents and extended family. Reciting it before undertaking any action related to them can help ensure you act with sincerity and adherence to Allah's commands.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and focus, raising your hands slightly as you do so, mimicking the Prophet's ﷺ supplication. Reflect on the meaning of each part: asking for help in remembering Allah (dhikr), being grateful to Him (shukr), and perfecting your worship of Him (husn 'ibadah). True remembrance and gratitude to Allah are what will guide you to fulfilling the rights of your family in a manner pleasing to Him. This dua is a powerful tool for seeking assistance in striving to do what is right by those Allah has placed in your care.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a cornerstone for spiritual well-being and effective worship. By seeking Allah's help in remembrance, gratitude, and good worship, a person cultivates the inner qualities necessary to fulfill their obligations towards others. A strong connection with Allah, fostered through consistent remembrance and thanks, naturally leads to a greater understanding and commitment to upholding the rights of parents and relatives, as commanded in the Quran and Sunnah. It is through this divine assistance that we can overcome personal shortcomings and excel in our duties, earning Allah's pleasure.
