Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka.
When to Read
This is a powerful dua to recite at the end of any gathering, whether it's a family get-together, a meeting, a lecture, or any other occasion where people come together. It serves as a spiritual 'seal' on the proceedings, seeking Allah's acceptance and forgiveness for any shortcomings during the interaction.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a present heart, ideally at the very end of the gathering before people disperse. It's recommended to say it three times, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua acts as expiation for any unintentional wrongdoings or idle talk that may have occurred during the gathering. It aligns with the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who would often conclude his assemblies with this prayer, ensuring that the time spent was pleasing to Allah and that any faults were forgiven. It fosters a sense of accountability and continuous seeking of forgiveness, vital for maintaining a connection with Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever sits in a gathering and is overcome with much indiscriminate talk, he may say before he gets up from his seat: Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance. (Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka) - except that it will be an expiation for whatever happened in the gathering.' Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3433.
