بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillāhilladhī lā yaḍurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā'i, wa Huwas-Samī'ul-'Alīm.

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited three times in the morning and three times in the evening. It's particularly beneficial when you anticipate entering a gathering, or after leaving one where you might have been exposed to negative speech, backbiting, or other harmful influences. Reciting it before entering a meeting, social event, or even a seemingly innocent get-together can act as a shield, seeking Allah's protection from any potential spiritual or emotional harm that might arise.

Recite this dua with sincere intention and full conviction in Allah's power. Utter each word clearly, focusing on its meaning. It is a supplication to the Almighty, so it should be done with humility and reverence. The Sunnah is to recite it three times in the morning and three times in the evening, making it a regular practice for comprehensive protection. Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a potent shield against all forms of harm, whether physical, spiritual, or emotional. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) promised that whoever recites this three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity until evening, and whoever recites it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until morning. This includes protection from the ill effects of gatherings, such as the spread of gossip, backbiting, envy, or any other negative energy that might be present. It invokes Allah's omnipresence, hearing, and knowledge, acknowledging that He is the ultimate protector.

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever says: 'Bismillāhilladhī lā yaḍurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā'i, wa Huwas-Samī'ul-'Alīm' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times, he will not be afflicted by any calamity until morning, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until morning." — Sunan Abi Dawud 3866 (Sahih)
