أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

The narration in Sahih Muslim mentions: 'Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'He who says three times in the morning: بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم (Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim - In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), nothing will harm him until the evening, and if he says it in the evening, nothing will harm him until the morning, and it was (also) narrated by Hammad bin Zayd on the authority of 'Abdullah bin Durayj with the same chain of transmitters. [...] And it is narrated on the authority of Ibn Jurayj that Abu az-Zubayr heard Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) say: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: 'He who says: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ (A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq - I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created) - three times, nothing will harm him.'
