Gatherings & Meetings
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 924

O Allah, bless our land, our fruits, and our trade. O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.

Allahumma barik lana fi ardhina wa thamarina wa buyu'ina. Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is perfect for reciting at the outset of a meeting or gathering specifically to discuss or launch a new business venture. It can be read individually or by the leader of the gathering before discussions begin, setting a tone of reliance on Allah and seeking His facilitation and blessing in the endeavor.

How to Read

Begin with sincere intention, acknowledging that all success comes from Allah. Face the Qibla if possible. Raise your hands slightly in supplication. Recite the dua clearly and with heartfelt conviction, focusing on the meaning of seeking Allah's barakah (blessings) in the venture and His provision of beneficial knowledge, good earnings, and acceptance of your efforts. It is also recommended to follow this with other duas for success and protection.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua invokes Allah's blessings specifically on the land (representing the source of business), the produce (representing the output or results), and the trade itself (representing the commercial activities). It directly asks for beneficial knowledge to guide the decisions, pure sustenance as the reward for the work, and for the efforts to be accepted by Allah, which is the ultimate goal of any righteous action. This is particularly relevant for business, as it encompasses ethical considerations, financial well-being, and spiritual acceptance.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would say: 'O Allah, bless our land, our fruits, and our trade. O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.'
