اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.
Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika
When to Read
This beautiful dua is particularly potent on Friday. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised us to recite it frequently, especially after the prescribed prayers. Imagine yourself after Asr prayer on a Friday, the day of many blessings. You've offered your prayers, and now is a perfect moment to turn to Allah with this supplication, asking for His assistance in fulfilling the core aspects of our faith: remembering Him, being grateful for all He has given us, and worshipping Him sincerely.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and a present heart. It's recommended to say it after the obligatory prayers, but its essence can be invoked anytime on Friday, especially during moments of reflection or when you're consciously trying to acknowledge Allah's favors. Picture His countless blessings as you make this request – from the breath you take to the Jumu'ah gathering itself.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates the essence of a believer's relationship with Allah. By asking for help in remembrance, we acknowledge that true remembrance (dhikr) isn't just mechanical; it requires Allah's enablement. Asking for help in gratitude (shukr) reminds us that all blessings are from Him, and expressing thanks is a way to appreciate and retain those blessings. Finally, seeking help for 'husn al-'ibadah' (beautiful worship) means striving to worship Him as if you see Him, or at least knowing that He sees you. This practice keeps our focus on our purpose and strengthens our connection with our Creator, especially on the blessed day of Jumu'ah, a day dedicated to His remembrance.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who was striking his camel with a stick. He said to him: 'O Allah, help him to remember Allah and thank Him and worship Him in the best manner.' Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: This is a saying that is good for the one who hears it, and it is good for the one who says it to others.
