اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from theG withdrawal of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sukhitik.
When to Read
This powerful supplication is particularly fitting on a Friday. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to seek refuge in Allah from various forms of harm, and jealousy, which can corrode the heart and relationships, is certainly a form of spiritual harm. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge (in Allah) from the hardships of life and its sorrows, from the evil of disbelief and the helplessness of being overcome by debt, and from being overcome by others. He used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sukhitik.' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the withdrawal of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with.)
