Friday / Jumuah
Sahih HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is particularly recommended to be recited after Fajr prayer on Friday, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often recite it upon waking on this blessed day. It's also a powerful supplication to make at any point during Friday, especially during the hour of response.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and firm belief in Allah's ability to grant your requests. It is best to recite it while facing the Qiblah, with hands raised, and with humility. Reflect on the meaning of each part: seeking knowledge that benefits, provision that is pure and lawful, and deeds that are accepted by Allah. The acceptance of deeds is crucial, as it signifies Allah's pleasure with our efforts.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua encompasses the most vital aspects of a believer's life. Beneficial knowledge guides us, pure provision sustains us lawfully, and accepted deeds ensure our worship is meaningful and brings us closer to Allah. By asking for these three things, the Prophet ﷺ taught us to prioritize what truly matters for our success in this life and the hereafter. The focus on accepted deeds is key to navigating challenges, as a strong connection with Allah through sincere worship is a source of immense strength and ease.
