اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and deeds accepted [by You].
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

This dua is particularly potent when recited after the Fajr (dawn) prayer on Friday. The day of Jumu'ah holds special significance in Islam, and supplications made on this day are believed to be answered. Making dua for clarity of vision and discernment allows us to navigate the week ahead with wisdom, making sound judgments informed by beneficial knowledge and pleasing Allah through our actions.
How to Read
Begin with Bismillah (In the name of Allah). Raise your hands to your chest, with your palms facing upwards. Recite the dua with sincere intention and full presence of heart. Imagine the clarity and wisdom you are asking for being bestowed upon you. Conclude by wiping your hands over your face as a sign of earnest seeking. It's also beneficial to follow this with other duas for guidance and protection throughout the day.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, encompasses seeking three essential elements for a righteous life: beneficial knowledge ('ilman naafi'an) which guides our actions and understanding; goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) which is pure and lawful, sustaining us and our families; and accepted deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) which are performed sincerely for Allah's pleasure and bring us closer to Him. Seeking these on Friday amplifies our potential to receive Allah's blessings and guidance, leading to clarity in our vision and discernment in our choices.
