Source & Authentication

The hadith narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked which dua was heard most, he replied: 'The dua of the Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) when he called out from the darkness: 'There is no god but You; glorified are You! I was indeed among the wrongdoers.' (Al-Anbiya 21:87). It is also narrated that the supplication of Dhul-Nun (Prophet Yunus) which he made in the belly of the fish was: 'La ilaha illa anta, Subhanaka, inni kuntu minadh-zalimin' (There is no god but You; glory to You, indeed I was one of the wrongdoers). So verily Allah the Lord of the Throne, said: 'Has the caller called upon Me in the like of that which he called upon Me? And indeed they will have what they ask for!' (Sahih Muslim 2709). The dua of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) mentioned in Sunan Ibn Majah 925, 'Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan,' is also a powerful supplication for seeking assistance in all aspects of life, including beneficial knowledge for academic success.
