Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is perfect to recite before, during, or immediately after your exams. It's a powerful supplication to ask Allah not just for success in the exam itself, but for the knowledge to be truly beneficial and lasting. Recite it with sincerity, asking Allah to bless your efforts and make the knowledge you've acquired a source of good for you in this life and the next.

How to Read

Recite this dua with full conviction in Allah's power to grant your request. Focus on the meaning of the words, especially 'ilm naafi' (beneficial knowledge). Imagine the knowledge you're studying becoming a tool for good, a source of understanding, and a way to please Allah. Raising your hands slightly while making dua is a Sunnah, and facing the Qiblah is also recommended when possible, though the primary focus should be on sincere supplication.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses three crucial requests: beneficial knowledge ('ilman naafi'an), pure sustenance (rizqan tayyiban), and accepted deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan). When you ask for beneficial knowledge, you're not just asking to pass exams, but for understanding that enriches your life, strengthens your faith, and allows you to contribute positively to the world. This knowledge, combined with pure sustenance and accepted deeds, is a recipe for a blessed life, pleasing to Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this concise yet comprehensive dua, showing us what truly matters.
