اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.
Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
When to Read
This dua is particularly beneficial when you feel your mind going blank during an exam or when you're struggling to recall information. You can recite it just before starting your exam, or at any point during the exam when you feel you've forgotten something crucial. It's also a good general dua to make when facing any situation where you need Allah's help and guidance to recall what you've learned.
How to Read
With sincere intention and focus, raise your hands slightly (if possible and not distracting) and recite this dua. Believe that Allah (SWT) has the power to open your mind and grant you clarity. It's best recited when you are in a state of focus, perhaps after seeking refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan and reciting Bismillah.
Virtues & Benefits
While this specific dua is a general supplication for sufficiency and freedom from need, its recitation can bring immense peace of mind and clarity when faced with the pressure of an exam. By asking Allah to suffice you with His lawful provision and enrich you with His grace, you are essentially asking Him to grant you the knowledge and ability to perform well, without resorting to unlawful means or succumbing to stress. The Hadith itself highlights the importance of relying on Allah's provision and seeking His help, which can manifest in various ways, including the ability to remember and articulate what you know.

Narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said, 'My wealth is diminishing.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: 'Recite every day: Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You).' The man did this and Allah made him wealthy. (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563)
