اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, sustenance that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This dua is excellent to recite when you begin your revision sessions, or at the start of a new academic term. You can also say it before starting to study for a specific exam, to invoke Allah's blessing on your efforts.
How to Read
Recite this with sincerity and focus, with the intention of seeking beneficial knowledge. Raise your hands if possible, and face the Qiblah if you are able. Remember that Allah loves for us to ask Him for our needs, even the seemingly small ones like success in our studies.

This dua is comprehensive, asking for three vital things: beneficial knowledge, which is knowledge that genuinely helps us understand and implement our faith and worldly affairs; pure sustenance, which is essential for our well-being; and accepted deeds, meaning our acts of worship and good works are pleasing to Allah. Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): She said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the most frequent supplication you hear?' He said: 'O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion.' Umm Salamah said: 'What were you asking for when you said: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, sustenance that is pure, and deeds that are accepted?' He said: 'Yes, O Umm Salamah, indeed he who is given knowledge that is beneficial, he is given the best of this world and the Hereafter, and his deed is accepted.'
