اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا

O Allah, benefit me from what You have taught me, teach me what benefits me, and increase me in knowledge.

Allahumma in-fa'ni bima 'allamtani wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni wa zidni 'ilman

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his companion Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) when he advised him: 'O Ali, say: Allahumma in-fa'ni bima 'allamtani wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni wa zidni 'ilman. And recite: 'And Allah has taught you, and you did not know.' [Al-Baqarah 2:239]' (Sunan Ibn Majah 3833). This teaching highlights the importance of seeking Allah's help in acquiring and benefiting from knowledge.
