The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When any of you goes to bed, he should take hold of the lower part of his lower garment and sweep it with it three times, and then say: Bismillahi, a'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatis-shayatini wa an yahdhurun. (In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of devils and from their presence.) For verily, if he says this, then Shaytan will not be able to harm him until he wakes up.' (Sahih Muslim 2710)
