It was narrated from Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ): 'Should I say: 'O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, mend me, grant me well-being, provide for me, and elevate me?' He said: 'Should you not be able to say these words, then say: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, mend me, grant me well-being, provide for me, and elevate me.' He said: 'I have seen that the world turned black and then turned bright, and he said: That is not the wording, rather it is: Allahumma-ghfir li, wa-rhamni, wa-hdini, wa-jburni, wa-'afini, wa-rzuqni, wa-rfa'ni' (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, mend me, grant me well-being, provide for me, and elevate me).
