When to Read

This dua is recited upon entering the Masjid (mosque). It's recommended to enter with your right foot first, just as we do when entering our homes, remembering that the Masjid is a house of Allah. This is a moment to consciously shift your intention from the worldly matters outside to the spiritual purpose within.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a humble heart as you step into the Masjid with your right foot. Visualize yourself seeking Allah's immense mercy, which is the ultimate reward for coming to His house for worship and remembrance.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua to emphasize that the Masjid is a place where Allah's mercy is abundant. By asking for the 'gates of Your mercy' to be opened, we are seeking not just spiritual peace and closeness to Allah, but also the blessings and rewards that come with engaging in worship in His house. It's a beautiful reminder that our acts of devotion in the Masjid are a means to attain Allah's pleasure and His vast mercy.
