‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you enters the Masjid, let him say: Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik. And when he leaves, let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.' (Sahih Muslim 713). This hadith also includes the dua for leaving the Masjid, which is 'O Allah, I ask of You Your bounty.' The emphasis here is on seeking Allah's grace and favor both upon entering and departing, highlighting the importance of His blessings in all our engagements with the Masjid.
