اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik
When to Read
This dua is recited upon entering the Masjid. While its primary intention is to seek Allah's mercy within the sacred space of the mosque, the principle of seeking Allah's abundant mercy can be extended in spirit to all our endeavors, including seeking success in business. By first turning to Allah with humility and seeking His mercy upon entering His house, we set a beautiful precedent for approaching our worldly pursuits with the same mindset: recognizing that all success comes from Him and is sustained by His mercy.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus as you step across the threshold into the mosque. It is customary to enter with the right foot first, just as one exits with the left foot. While this specific dua doesn't mention the foot, the general etiquette of entering the mosque with the right foot and making dua applies. Imagine yourself sincerely asking Allah to open the doors of His immense mercy for you, both within the mosque and in all aspects of your life.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct supplication to Allah, the Most Merciful, asking Him to open the doors of His mercy. When we enter the Masjid seeking this, we are tapping into a profound spiritual resource. By making this a habit, we remind ourselves that all good things, including success in our business ventures, are ultimately from Allah's mercy. Cultivating this connection before embarking on important tasks can imbue our work with barakah (blessings) and tawfiq (divine guidance and success).
