Source & Authentication

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When any one of you performs the Wudu' and then intends for the mosque, he is in the state of Ihram (for Umrah or Hajj) until he enters the mosque. And the mosque is in the neighbourhood of Allah, and the one who visits the neighbour of Allah, it is incumbent upon the visitor to honour the neighbour. And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you enters the mosque, he should say: O Allah, open to me the doors of Your mercy.' And when he goes out of it, he should say: O Allah, I ask of Thee some of Thy bounty.
