اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your Mercy.

When to Read
This dua is specifically recited upon entering the Masjid. It signifies a humble request to Allah for His mercy to envelop us as we step into His house, a place dedicated to worship and reflection. It’s a beautiful moment to transition from the outside world, with all its distractions and preoccupations, into a state of spiritual focus. The intention here is not just about the prayer we will perform inside, but about seeking acceptance for all the good deeds we strive to do, both inside and outside the mosque.
How to Read
Upon approaching the entrance of the Masjid, one should present their right foot first. Recite this dua with sincerity and humility, reflecting on Allah's boundless mercy. It's recommended to also recite the dua for entering a home, which is 'Bismillah, Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik' (In the name of Allah, O Allah, I ask You from Your Grace) and the dua for the Masjid: 'A'udhu billahil-`adheem wa bi wajhihil-kareem wa bi sultaanihil-qadeem minash-shaytanir-rajeem' (I seek refuge in Allah the Mighty, and by His Noble Face, and by His Eternal Authority from the accursed Satan), as narrated by Abu Dawud (466) and Tirmidhi (308) respectively. However, the primary dua for entering the Masjid itself, focusing on mercy, is the one mentioned here.
