I seek refuge in Allah the Almighty, and in His Noble Face, and in His Eternal Authority from the accursed Satan. O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
A'udhu billahil-'adheem, wa bi wajhihil-kareem, wa bi sultanihil-qadeem minash-shaytanir-rajeem. Allahummaftah lee abwaba rahmatik.

Virtues & Benefits
By reciting this dua, you are actively seeking Allah's mercy and protection from Satan's whispers. It sets a tone of reverence and spiritual focus for your prayer or visit to the masjid. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the angels pray for us while we are in the mosque, saying, 'O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, have mercy on him.' Reciting this dua aligns us with that angelic supplication.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered a mosque, he would say: 'A'udhu billahil-'adheem, wa bi wajhihil-kareem, wa bi sultanihil-qadeem minash-shaytanir-rajeem.' [I seek refuge in Allah the Almighty, and in His Noble Face, and in His Eternal Authority from the accursed Satan.] Then he would say: 'Allahumma aftah lee abwaba rahmatik.' [O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.] (Sunan Ibn Majah 771, classified as Hasan by Al-Albani).
