When to Read

This dua is recited specifically when approaching and entering the mosque. It's a beautiful moment to transition from the outside world into a space of divine presence. As you take your first steps towards the masjid, or just as you are about to step inside, this is the perfect time to make this supplication.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and focus as you enter the masjid. It's customary to enter with the right foot first, just as you would when entering your home, and to recite this prayer upon entering.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua invokes Allah's mercy upon entering His house of worship. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the angels are present in the masjid. By asking for the doors of mercy to be opened, we are seeking divine blessings and spiritual elevation within this sacred space. It's a way to ensure our time in the masjid is filled with barakah (blessings) and acceptance.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When any one of you enters a masjid, he should send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ and then say: 'O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.'
