‘Abdullah bin Al-Harith reported: ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) perform ablution like this of mine. Then he said: ‘Whoever performs ablution like this, and then says: ‘Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik’ (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You; I bear witness that there is no god but You; I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance), it will be written on a scroll and then sealed, and it will not be broken until the Day of Resurrection.’ He also said: ‘Whoever says when he goes to the mosque: ‘Allahumma-ftah li abwaba rahmatik’ (O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy), angels will say: ‘We have found you to be good.’ And when he says: ‘Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik’ (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty), he will enter Paradise.’
