Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik

When to Read

This dua is recited specifically when entering any mosque, whether it's the first time or a regular visit. It's meant to be said as you are about to step inside.

How to Read

As you approach the entrance of the Masjid, pause briefly, turn towards the door, and recite this dua with sincerity. It's recommended to enter with your right foot first, as is the general Sunnah for entering places of good. Focus on the meaning as you say it, invoking Allah's mercy upon entering His house.

Virtues & Benefits

This beautiful dua, taught to us by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is a powerful way to begin our worship. By asking Allah to open the doors of His mercy, we are seeking His special attention and blessings as we enter His house. It sets a tone of humility and reliance on Him. The Masjid is a place where immense peace resides, and this dua helps us connect with that spiritual atmosphere from the very threshold. It's a reminder that the true reward and serenity we seek comes directly from Allah's grace.
