The bathroom is often considered a place where Jinn might gather. By invoking Allah's name and seeking His refuge with this specific dua, we are following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and asking for protection from any harmful Jinn or Shayateen that might be present. This act is a manifestation of our reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) for our safety in all circumstances, seen and unseen.
