بِسْمِ اللهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils (or from evil and wicked things).
Bismillahi, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khabaa'ith.
When to Read
This dua should be recited just before entering the bathroom or toilet. It is a general supplication for entering this place, which is often associated with impurity and, symbolically, the dwelling place of shayatin (devils).
How to Read
Recite this dua quietly before stepping inside the bathroom. Uttering it with sincerity and awareness of its meaning is key. The intention behind it is seeking Allah's protection from all forms of harm, both seen and unseen, especially those that may be present in such a place.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua is a Sunnah practice of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It serves as a shield, seeking Allah's protection from the harmful influences of devils and impurities that may reside in the bathroom. By invoking Allah's name and seeking refuge, we purify our intention and acknowledge His omnipresence and power over all things, even in places we might otherwise neglect. It reminds us that even in the most mundane or private moments, we are connected to our Creator.
