بِسْمِ اللهِ، اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils (or from all evil things).
Bismillah. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith.
When to Read
This dua is recited just before entering the bathroom or toilet. It is recommended to do so with the left foot entering first.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and awareness of its meaning. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this supplication to seek Allah's protection in a place where one might be more vulnerable to the whispers of Shaytan and the influence of unseen evils. The mention of 'khubuth' (male devils) and 'khaba'ith' (female devils or evil things) encompasses seeking protection from the spiritual harm that can be present in such places.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a powerful shield against the harmful influences of Shaytan. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, through his Sunnah, taught us to seek Allah's refuge in all circumstances, especially in places that are considered less pure and where evil may try to afflict us. By reciting this, we invoke Allah's protection over ourselves and purify our intention, acknowledging His sovereignty even in the most private of actions. This practice helps in maintaining a constant state of remembrance of Allah and seeking His help in warding off inner weaknesses and negative thoughts that might arise, particularly in a place of vulnerability.
