اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male evil spirits and the female evil spirits.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith

When to Read

This dua is recited *before* entering the bathroom or toilet area. It's a Sunnah practice to seek Allah's protection in a place that is often associated with impurities and the dwelling of shayatin (devils).

How to Read

Recite this dua clearly before stepping into the bathroom. It is recommended to enter with the left foot first and exit with the right foot first, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Saying this dua is a way of invoking Allah's name and seeking His safeguard.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is a powerful shield against the harm and whispers of shayatin, who are known to frequent places of impurity. By seeking refuge in Allah, we purify our intention and ask for protection, transforming an ordinary, even mundane, act into an act of worship and remembrance. It reminds us that even in private spaces, Allah's presence and protection are paramount.
