Entering Bathroom
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 6306

بِسْمِ اللهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from devilish males and devilish females (evil spirits).

Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith

When to Read

This dua is recited just before entering the place where one relieves themselves. It's a moment where we are most vulnerable to the whispers and mischief of Shaytan, and this supplication is our shield.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and presence of mind before stepping into the bathroom or toilet area. It is customary to enter with the left foot and exit with the right, though this specific dua is the primary Sunnah for entering.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is a direct teaching from our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to protect oneself from the unseen evils that frequent such places. By seeking Allah's refuge, we ask Him to shield us from harm and protect our modesty and purity. It reminds us that even in private moments, we are in Allah's awareness and protection.
