بِسْمِ اللهِ، اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils (or evil spirits).
Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.
When to Read
This supplication should be recited just before entering the toilet or bathroom. It is a protection against the evils and impurities that may reside there.
How to Read
Recite this dua clearly before stepping into the bathroom with your left foot first, as is the sunnah for entering places of impurity. It is recommended to say 'Bismillah' before any action to invoke Allah's name and blessings.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a shield against the harmful influences and negative energies associated with places of impurity. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this supplication to seek Allah's protection from the devils (khubuth – male devils, khaba'ith – female devils or evil things) who are known to inhabit such places. By seeking refuge in Allah, we ensure our spiritual and physical safety.
