Entering Bathroom
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim 142 (Bukhari), 375 (Muslim)

بِسْمِ اللهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils.

Bismillahi, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith

When to Read

Recite this dua just before entering the bathroom or toilet. This is a crucial practice to adopt as it sets a spiritual tone even for the most mundane of activities.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity and awareness. It is recommended to say 'Bismillah' (in the name of Allah) before the rest of the dua. This dua is typically recited before one crosses the threshold into the bathroom.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful shield against the whispers and influences of Shaytan, who often congregates in places of impurity. By seeking Allah's refuge, we protect ourselves from unseen evils and ensure that even our need for the bathroom is an act of remembrance of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua to guard us, demonstrating that no aspect of our lives is too small to be connected to Allah.
