Dua for Ease and Relief Upon Entering the Bathroom

Entering Bathroom
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 142

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

In the name of Allah, O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils (or from evil and impurity).

Bismillahi, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith

When to Read

This supplication should be recited just before entering the bathroom (or toilet). It is an act of seeking Allah's protection before entering a place where impurities are present and where Shaytan is known to frequent.

How to Read

Recite this dua clearly before stepping into the bathroom with your left foot. It's a personal invocation, so speak it in a way you can remember and utter it with sincerity and awareness of seeking Allah's protection.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a profound shield. By seeking refuge in Allah from malevolent jinn (khubuth) and female jinn (khaba'ith), or from all forms of evil and impurity, we protect ourselves from their potential harm and whispers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this to maintain our spiritual purity even in places associated with physical impurity. It reminds us that Allah's presence and protection extend everywhere, even in our most private moments.
