Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to say in her prayer after the Tashahhud, is a comprehensive request for divine assistance. Beneficial knowledge ('ilman nafi'an) leads to correct worship and action. Goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) encompasses all that is lawful and pleasing. Acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) are those performed sincerely for Allah's sake and in accordance with His guidance, leading to spiritual growth and closeness to Him. By asking for beneficial knowledge, we are directly asking for the intellect and insight to truly comprehend the Quranic verses we recite, transforming our prayer from mere recitation into a meaningful dialogue with our Creator.
