Dua for the Deceased in the Final Tashahhud

During Prayer
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 963

O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, and pardon him. Honor his reception and make his grave spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. Grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any of you finishes his Tashahhud, let him seek refuge in Allah from four things: from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death, and from the evil of the Dajjal.' Then he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate for the deceased with these words: 'Allahumma-ghfir li-ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu, wa ma asrartu wa ma a'lantu, anta muqaddimi wa anta mu'akhkhiri, la ilaha illa anta.' (O Allah, forgive what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, what I have concealed and what I have made public. You are the One Who sends forth and the One Who delays. There is no god but You.) The Prophet ﷺ also taught: 'Allahumma-ghfir li-rajulina ha-dhalla (or ha-dhihi), wa sa'atihi, wa jaddihi, wa khatikhatihi wa 'ammihi, wa ma asrarta minhu, Allahumma akthir malahu wa awladahu, wa barik lahu fima a'taytahu, wa tawaffahu ila ilika.' (O Allah, forgive our man [or this woman], his hearing, his sight, his effort, his error and his sins. O Allah, increase his wealth and his children, and bless him in what You have given him, and cause him to die [in a manner] except unto You.) And he also taught: 'Allahumma-ghfir lahu wa-rhamhu wa 'aafihi wa-'afu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-baradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama yunaqqa ath-thawb ul-abyadu minad-danasi, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhul-jannata, wa a'idhhu min 'adhab-il-qabri, wa 'adhab-in-nar.' (O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, and pardon him. Honor his reception and make his grave spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. Grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.)
