O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your favor, and the changing of Your protection, and the sudden of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Antichrist. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the saying of falsehood in richness and poverty. And I seek refuge in You from the companion of tribulation, and from the evil of destiny, and from the evil of that which moves upon the earth. O Allah, I ask You for good deeds, and abandoning evil deeds, and the love of the poor. And when You intend to test Your servants with a trial, then take me unto Yourself without me having been tested. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of any deed that brings me closer to Your love.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-Dajjal. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi Jahannam, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min qawlizzuri fil-ghina wal-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min sahibil-fitnah, wa min su'il-qada', wa min sharri ma yadubbu 'ala wajhil-ard. Allahumma inni as'alukal-fi'lal-hasan, wa tarkal-munkar, wa hubbal-masakin, wa idha aradta bi'ibadika fitnatan, fatawaffani ghaira maftun. As'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.

How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart. Understand the meaning of each phrase and internalize your plea to Allah. Ensure you are in a state of purity and facing the Qiblah.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a believer's comprehensive reliance on Allah for protection. It includes seeking refuge from the loss of blessings, the decline of well-being, sudden divine retribution, and all forms of divine anger. Crucially, it asks for protection against the trials of the grave and the Dajjal, acknowledging their immense significance. The request for protection from falsehood in all states of wealth and poverty, from evil companions and destiny, and from the evils that creep on earth highlights a desire for overall spiritual and worldly safety. The latter part of the dua shifts to seeking positive outcomes: the ability to do good deeds, shun evil, love the needy, and ultimately, to die in a state of steadfastness before being tested. The ultimate aspiration is to attain Allah's love, the love of those who love Him, and the love of actions that draw one closer to Him.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us to say in the Tashahhud: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Raghriban wa Rahiban. Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'aluka minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun (ﷺ). Wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'adhu 'audhu minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun (ﷺ). Allahumma inni as'alukal-Jannah wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amalin, wa a'udhu bika minan-nari wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amalin. Wa as'aluka an taj'ala kulla qada'in qadaytahu khairan." Then he taught them the following comprehensive supplication: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-Dajjal. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi Jahannam, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min qawlizzuri fil-ghina wal-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min sahibil-fitnah, wa min su'il-qada', wa min sharri ma yadubbu 'ala wajhil-ard. Allahumma inni as'alukal-fi'lal-hasan, wa tarkal-munkar, wa hubbal-masakin, wa idha aradta bi'ibadika fitnatan, fatawaffani ghaira maftun. As'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik." (Sunan An-Nasa'i 5504, classified as Hasan)
