اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمِّي وَحَزَنِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَجْزِي وَكَسَلِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ جُبْنِي وَبُخْلِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and from the subjugation of men.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min hammi wa huzani, wa a'udhu bika min 'ajzi wa kasali, wa a'udhu bika min jubni wa bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited regularly, especially when facing financial hardship, overwhelming debt, or feeling the pressure of owing money to others. It's particularly effective when said after the obligatory prayers, in the last third of the night when Allah descends to the lowest heaven, or during times of sincere supplication.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and complete reliance on Allah. Ensure you are in a state of purity (wudu) if possible. Raise your hands in supplication, with your palms facing upwards, and implore Allah with humility and conviction. Source & Authentication

The narration concerning this dua is found in Sahih al-Bukhari, narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). He reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate a lot, saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, helplessness and laziness, cowardice and stinginess, and the overpowering of debt and subjugation of men." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6369). This dua highlights the comprehensive nature of the Prophet's (ﷺ) supplications, covering both spiritual and worldly concerns.
