اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need anyone but You.
Allahumma akfini bi halalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak
When to Read
This dua is especially powerful when facing overwhelming debt, particularly when it stems from unforeseen medical expenses. Tirmidhi narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a mubaatib (a slave who has agreed to gain his freedom for a price) came to him and said: "I am unable to pay off my mubaataba (the agreed price for freedom), so help me." Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I will tell you some words that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me, and if you say them, Allah will pay your debt for you, even if it were as big as Mount Sar.' Then he mentioned the dua: 'Allahumma akfini bi halalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.'
