O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt and from being overcome by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.
When to Read
This powerful supplication can and should be recited regularly, especially during your daily prayers (after the Tashahhud, before the Salam) or at any time you feel worried or overwhelmed. It's particularly pertinent when facing financial worries or considering taking on any form of debt, seeking Allah's protection before any potential hardship arises.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, understanding the meaning of each phrase. Raise your hands as you would during prayer when making this supplication. Focus on the gravity of seeking refuge from the specific troubles mentioned, especially the burden of debt and the humiliation it can bring. Make it a habit, not just a one-off prayer.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a comprehensive shield against significant life struggles. By seeking refuge in Allah from anxiety and sorrow, we guard our mental well-being. Protection from incapacity and laziness ensures we are empowered to work and strive. Seeking refuge from cowardice and stinginess helps maintain our courage and generosity.
