اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful, and make me independent with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone besides You.

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka

When to Read

This dua is perfect to recite during times of financial strain, especially when facing the pressure of repaying a specific debt. You can make this a regular part of your supplications after Fajr prayer, or anytime you feel the weight of your obligations. It's particularly potent when you're actively working towards settling a debt with a specific individual or institution.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and firm conviction in Allah's ability to provide ease. Visualize yourself being free from the debt and living a life sustained by halal means. It's recommended to raise your hands in supplication and to maintain a state of purity if possible. Remember, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to ask Allah directly for our needs, big or small.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful request for Allah's provision and independence. By asking Allah to suffice us with halal income, we are seeking protection from unlawful means and impure earnings. The second part, 'make us independent with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone besides You,' fosters a deep sense of reliance on Allah alone and shields us from the potential humiliation or dependence on creation. It's a comprehensive plea for financial well-being and contentment.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am unable to pay my debt, so help me.' He ﷺ replied: 'I will teach you some words with which, if you say them, Allah will pay your debt for you, even if it were as large as Mount Uhud.' Then he added: 'O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful, and make me independent with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone besides You.'
