اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I do not need anyone other than You.
Allahumma-kfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak
When to Read
This powerful dua is particularly relevant when facing financial hardship due to debts, especially those incurred while attempting to uphold an obligation or promise. Recite it frequently, particularly after your obligatory prayers (Salat), and at any time you feel overwhelmed by your financial situation or the burden of debt. It's a supplication for Allah's provision and independence from reliance on creation.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing on your need for Allah's help. It is recommended to raise your hands slightly, as one would when making a sincere supplication. Ensure you are in a state of purity (Wudu) if possible, and face the Qiblah. Reflect on the meaning of the words and trust in Allah's ability to ease your burden.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a comprehensive request for financial well-being that prioritizes lawful earnings and independence from others. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this to his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) when he asked for something to say to the Prophet ﷺ when he asked him for something. This indicates its potency in seeking divine sufficiency. By asking to be sufficed with the halal (lawful) instead of the haram (unlawful), we align our seeking of provision with Allah's commands, ensuring blessings. Furthermore, asking to be enriched by His grace means seeking a contentment and independence that prevents us from having to rely on or beg from people, thus preserving our dignity and honor.

Al-Abbas said: "I wish to ask for something that will benefit me." He said: "O my uncle, ask what you wish." Al-Abbas said: "I wish that you teach me something that I may say to Allah on the Day of standing." The Prophet ﷺ said: "O my uncle, say: Allahumma-kfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I do not need anyone other than You)." — Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563 (Hasan)
