اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الْعَدُوِّ وَشَمَاتَةِ الأَعْدَاءِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt, the dominance of the enemy, and the malice of enemies.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa ghalabatil-'aduwwi wa shamatatil-a'daa'
When to Read
This dua is particularly potent when you find yourself overwhelmed by debt and, on top of that, facing unjust accusations or hostility from others. Recite it during the day, especially after your obligatory prayers, or at night when you seek solace and divine intervention. It's a shield against overwhelming circumstances.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, raising your hands as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us for seeking refuge. Imagine Allah (SWT) hearing your plea and extending His protection. Make a firm intention to work towards resolving your debt and upholding truth, while relying on Allah for the outcome.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication encapsulates seeking refuge from three significant worldly trials: overwhelming debt, which can cripple one's life and peace; the dominance of an enemy or oppressor, which leads to subjugation; and the taunting or rejoicing of enemies over your misfortunes, which adds insult to injury. By reciting this, we are asking Allah (SWT) to shield us from these hardships and grant us ease and justice. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself would often seek refuge in Allah from these very things, demonstrating their gravity and the importance of this dua.
