Children
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2708

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq

When to Read

While this powerful dua offers general protection from all harm, we can recite it with the specific intention of seeking Allah's care and protection for orphan children. Recite it when you reflect on their vulnerability, when you encounter them, or simply as part of your daily supplications, particularly after Fajr and Asr. It can also be recited whenever you feel concern for their safety and well-being, or when stopping at a new place, remembering the broader context of the hadith.

How to Read

Recite this dua with a sincere heart, firm belief in Allah's complete power and His perfect words. You can recite it audibly or silently, individually or collectively. As you utter these words, visualize seeking Allah’s divine shield for all who are vulnerable, especially the young ones who lack parental care and are exposed to various forms of harm. Focus on the meaning, understanding that you are calling upon the Most Merciful to safeguard them from every kind of evil – be it physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua is a powerful act of seeking Allah's protection for yourself, your loved ones, and indeed, all of creation, including the most vulnerable among us: orphan children. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that whoever recites this dua, nothing will harm them. When we make this supplication with the intention for orphans, we are essentially asking Allah to shield them from neglect, abuse, hunger, illness, and all forms of societal or spiritual evil. Beyond the immediate protection, our intention to include orphans in our prayers reinforces our commitment to their welfare, which is immensely rewarded by Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said: "I and the guardian of an orphan will be in Paradise like these two" — and he gestured with his index and middle fingers. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5304, Sahih Muslim 2983). While this dua doesn't explicitly mention orphans, its profound request for refuge from all evil aligns perfectly with our responsibility to protect and care for them.
