O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your Magnificence lest I be consumed from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), encapsulates seeking Allah's all-encompassing protection. By asking for 'Afiyah' (well-being), we seek freedom from all forms of harm, including the subtle yet damaging effects of gossip and backbiting. Protecting our children's ears and tongues from engaging in or being affected by such negative speech is a vital aspect of raising them according to Islamic values.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: I said, "O Allah's Messenger ﷺ! Teach me something I can ask Allah for." He said, "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in the world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth. O Allah, veil my weaknesses and set at ease my consternation. O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, and from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being taken from beneath me." (Ibn 'Abbas said) 'Umar bin Al-Khattab often repeated these words when praying. The narrator said: I asked him, "O Ibn 'Abbas, why do you ask for pardon and well-being from Allah with these words?" He replied, "O my nephew, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sought refuge in Allah from every evil, and the greatest evil is the evil of the Day of Judgment, and the Day of Judgment is near." (Another version says) 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us to seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our deeds and the evil of our actions.'
